Il 24 marzo del 1988 usciva “Thundersteel”, sesto album in studio della band a stelle e strisce Riot, pubblicato dopo il ritorno sulla scena dopo un periodo di inattività nella metà degli anni ’80. L’album vede un line-up rinnovata rispetto al precedente, solo Mark Reale, chitarrista e produttore, rimasto come membro stabile.
